A Whole New World: Bathroom, Ensuite
Charmaine and her husband Gavin had moved to their new home not long before they came to me to undergo a Design Package project. Their beautiful home, which is perfectly located presented a general layout that was quite dated: the living spaces were segregated in different rooms. It was time to open it up!
I could feel this home had a wonderful potential but designing the new spaces was very challenging. Working with existing sizes and constraints can be difficult! Luckily, I have curated a very efficient Design Process so after exploring multiple options, we pinpointed the perfect solutions for each space.
We ended up tackling together a very large renovation; encompassing Kitchen and Pantry, Laundry, Master Ensuite and Bathroom.

Ensuite The peculiar shape of the room had to be preserved. The vanity sits on a tiled plinth which helps supporting the weight of the large and roomy cabinet units. Notice the way the timber matches horizontally (the feasibility of grain-matching highly depends on the material and size of the unit)
Ensuite The original layout was kept to minimise costs. I specifically designed the make-up station to suit my Client’s needs. Make-up shallow drawers are at the top while two deeper drawers can be used to store taller beauty products items.
Ensuite Switching to a glass panel made the room feel incredibly bigger. A skylight was added above the shower, filling the Ensuite with a warm natural light.
Bathroom The vanity was designed with 3 drawers and 1 “flap down” which is very practical for hair dryers and other small appliances.
